Artificial Intelligence Algorithm for Path Planning Optimization in Planar Mechanisms

Abstract

Mechanisms have a leading role in automation. Path planning algorithms are particularly important for their trajectory planning. They can ensure that the mechanism’s end effector can travel from one location to another without collision with obstacles. Finding the optimal path for planar mechanisms was achieved by utilizing the artificial fish swarm algorithm. The generated 2D path was implemented in the real world using an industrial robotic arm.
