Crimson Publishers is committed to transparency and ethical publishing. All individuals involved in the submission, review, and editorial process must disclose any circumstances that could influence, or appear to influence, their judgment.

What Is a Conflict of Interest?

A conflict of interest exists when personal, financial, or professional relationships could affect the objectivity of the research or its evaluation. Examples include:

  • Financial ties (funding, employment, stocks, consultancy).
  • Personal relationships with authors or reviewers.
  • Professional affiliations, collaborations, or academic competition.

Responsibilities

Authors

  • Must disclose all financial support, relationships, or affiliations that may influence the research.
  • Must submit a COI statement with their manuscript.

Reviewers

  • Must report any conflicts that could affect their impartiality.
  • Should decline review if a significant conflict exists.

Editors

  • Must disclose relevant conflicts and remove themselves from handling impacted submissions.

Managing Conflicts

The editorial team will review disclosures and take appropriate steps, such as assigning new editors/reviewers or adding a COI note to the published article.
