Abstract

The Paralympic Games have covered a long way in the short time of the second half of the 20th century and nowadays they are perceived as the largest international sport competition for athletes with disability. The Paralympic Games as an elite sport competition for athletes with disability have played a major role in changing society’s attitudes towards disability, by focusing on the athlete’s achievement rather than the disability itself, by accelerating the agenda of inclusion and by promoting the concept of accessibility in the urban environment (Nyland [1], Gold [2]).
