Abstract

Repeated economic crises have prompted both practitioners and scholars to examine the role of institutional investors in destabilizing global financial markets. This article begins with a review of Soros’ reflexivity theory, highlighting its relevance to systemic instability. It then updates the current landscape of institutional investors, assessing their influence on market dynamics. Three game theory studies are considered to illuminate strategic interactions in the present financial market. Finally, the paper addresses policy challenges in designing effective government regulation within an increasingly complex and fast‑evolving financial ecosystem.
