Abstract

Indonesia is the largest island nation in the world with over 17,504 islands (Kompasiana. com, 2019). Similarly, the population of Indonesia is the fifth largest after China, the United States, Russia, India, and Indonesia, which is about 269.6 million people (BPS, 2019). As a large country provides opportunities for the free trade route due to the many entrances to this country. This condition is a threat to Indonesia due to the opening of entry routes in some areas of Indonesia both by land such as Papua with Papua New Guinea, Malaysia in Kalimantan, and East Nusa Tenggara with East Timor. The sea route also plays an important role as an entrance such as the area along the west coast of Sumatra island, Anambas islands, Batam islands, the northern part of Sulawesi with the Philippines, the northern part of Papua with Solomon and Palau, as well as the southern western part of Papua and Nusa Tenggara with Australia. In addition to land and sea, there have also been open air routes for the nation’s capital and several provinces that have international airports with other countries. The addition of the number of national and foreign airlines entering the territory of Indonesia has provided a lot of movement of passengers and goods to the country. With the immigration process between one nation and another nation has encouraged a very thick cultural exchange between so that there is a process of assimilation. The beginning of transcultural begins with the process of assimilation that occurs the process of absorption of cultural absorption and behavior of both ethnic groups occurs and is known as Global Transcultural (Agussalim, 2020).
