Abstract

a. This paper explores how space affects social performance and by extension the perceived health of the individual performing within it.
b. It examines some of the ways that:
i. individuals’ perspectives and perceptions affect the space in which we each perform.
ii. the nature of the space(s) on which we perform affect how we the perform in social contexts with a particular emphasis on Taoist notions of Chi(energy), Feng Shui, Double Balance, & Dance Towards Wellness.
iii. understanding the therapeutic and theatrical nature of space may help educators and clinicians enable their students and clients to manage their daily social interactions more effectively.
