Nelson Hendler is a 1966 cum laude graduate of Princeton, where he also played varsity lacrosse. He received an MD and a MS in neurophysiology from University of Maryland, in 1972 and 1974, and did his residency training in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1972 to 1975. Dr. Hendler was Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for over 30 years. He has published four books, 34 medical textbook chapters, and 61 articles. He was past president of the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Association of America, and of the American Academy of Pain Management.

Dr. Tirotta received his BA from Cornell University in 1982 and his MD from New York University School of Medicine in 1986. He also received an MBA degree from Columbia University in 1999. Dr. Tirotta completed his internship in Internal Medicine at SUNY at Stony Brook in 1987. He completed his residency training in anesthesiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1990; he subspecialized in pediatric and cardiovascular anesthesia, including heart transplantation.

Barry Kraynack is a US trained physician (MD) boarded in both pain management and anesthesiology (retired from medical practice with inactive licenses). He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1973, interned in medicine at Barnes Hospital (Washington University in St Louis 1973-74) and did his anesthesia and pain medicine residency in Boston at the Peter Bent Brigham hospital (1974-76) and served in the US Navy Medical Corps from 1976-78. He worked as Director of Emerging Technologies and now act work as Medical Advisor for adverse effects for Microtransponder, Inc.

Dr. Somchai Amornyotin graduated at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in 1989. He became the staff of the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand in 1996. Until 2004 he became the associate professor of the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. From 2005 until 2009 he was the chief of Anesthesiology Division of Siriraj GI Endoscopy Center, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. His first scientific paper was published in Thailand in 1999.

Angelo Lavano received his • Medicine and Surgery Graduate from the 2° Faculty of Medicine and Surgery - University of Naples, in 1981 and finished his neurosurgical training at the Neurosurgical Department of the 2° University Hospital of Naples in 1986. Lavano completed two years of fellowship training at Department of Neurosurgery, Karolinska Sjukuset, Stockholm Sweden and he joined the Division of Neurosurgery of the University Hospital of Catanzaro as an Assistant Professor and currently Lavano is Chief of Neurosurgical Department/Functional and Stereaotactic Neurosurgery Division of the University Hospital of Catanzaro.. Since 2011 is Full Professor of Neurosurgey, at the School of Medicine and Surgery , University “ Magna Graecia” of Catanzaro and Teacher of Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery at the Neurosurgical Training School of University of Catanzaro/ University Federico II of Naples.

Rob is now a senior clinician working in Thoracic Medicine at Royal Brisbane as part of the pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung disease clinics in addition to the medical lead of the tracheostomy management team. Through his career, he has been the Deputy Director of the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and continues as an Associate Professor of the Burns, Critical Care and Trauma research centre of the University of Queensland, an integrated, multidisciplinary research centre in basic science, clinical science and epidemiology.

Khaled Manae Al-Kattan was a graduate from King Saud University 1983, got his FRCS from Edinburgh with a gold medal in 1988. Appointed as an assistance professor at KSU in 1989, Associate professor in 1995 and then a full professor in 2000. He, Dean College of Medicine, Alfaisal University and Consultant Thoracic Surgery and lung transplant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre.

Sang Won Kwak is a Korean Medical Board-Certified Physician who has specialized in Pain Medicine for more than 7 years, currently working at My Health Medical Center, Bahrain since July 2017. He had worked at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital situated in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates as a Consultant Physician from April 2015 to May 2017 and also have been a clinical professor of Seoul National University Hospital since December 2014. After becoming a clinical professor at Seoul National University Hospital, he had taken up the opportunity to go to the United Arab Emirates as an establishing member of the Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital which is contracted to be managed by Seoul National University Hospital until August, 2018.

Pradipta Bhakta (MD, DNB, MNAMS, FCAI, EDRA), have graduated in medicine from Calcutta University, West Bengal, India in 1995. Then Pradipta Bhakta did post graduation in Anaesthesiology for University College of Medicine, West Bengal, India in 2001. After working about 1 year in West Bengal, joined as senior Resident in anaesthesia in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India the premier medical institute of India. After that (2006) Pradipta Bhakta moved to Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Muscat, Oman and worked there for 6 years initially as registrar and then as senior registrar before coming to Ireland in 2012. In Ireland Pradipta Bhakta worked in several hospitals in rotational training as well as working experience as SHO and Registrar. Presently Pradipta Bhakta working as registrar in University General Hospital Kerry, Tralee, Ireland.

Dr. Sun proposed firstly that multisegment intramedullary spinal cord tumors (MSICT) were a special type of spinal cord tumor in 2008. He prospectively analyzed correlations between clinical features and histological classification of multi-segment intramedullary spinal cord tumors (MSICTs), and the extent of microsurgical resection and functional outcomes.

Specialized in General Surgery in 1987 (Madras Medical college –University of Madras ) and subsequently worked as Laparoscopic and General Surgeon in Chennai Apollo Hospitals ,Maldives and various Universities in Malaysia-AIMST University, International Medical University and Perdana University –Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Malaysia. Participated in International Education Forum 2015 in Dublin-Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Contributed a Chapter in OSCE surgery book and published articles in Indexed Journals including Canadian Family Physician. In Hospital BatuPahat ,he conducted Laparoscopic workshops twice a year for 6 years.

Mert Akbas earned his medical degree at Akdeniz University, School of Medicine in 1999. He completed his anesthesia residency in Akdeniz University, Antalya, and started his pain management fellowship program first as an observer doctor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Pain Management Clinic, Lubbock/TX-USA. He is an associative professor of Anesthesiologist and Pain management physician at Akdeniz University, School of Medicine in Turkey. He joined the Akdeniz University faculty in 1993.

Lysimachos G Papazoglou qualified from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1986 and obtained a PhD in 1992. He received postgraduate training in small animal soft tissue surgery in Aristotle University Greece (1987-1993) and University of Cambridge UK (1994). He was visiting professor of small animal soft tissue surgery in Colorado State University, University of Missouri and University of Florida USA. He is currently Professor in Small Animal Surgery at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Dr Kaddoum is currently Director of Pediatric Anesthesia and Director of the Operating Room at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. He has also been recently promoted to Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology. His main focus at AUBMC is pediatric open heart anesthesia. He conducted clinical Research at St Jude and his main interests were the management of chronic pain in children with cancer, pediatric regional anesthesia, and pediatric airway management in children with mediastinal masses.
